About
A registered teacher, running one classroom at a time
Learning With Liz is a personally run practice. Every assessment, every plan and every lesson is done by the same teacher, for one student at a time.

Where this comes from
I am a fully registered Victorian Institute of Teaching teacher with six years of experience teaching the Victorian Curriculum, and more than ten years of private tuition experience across Australia and the United Kingdom.
Between August 2025 and April 2026 I taught in England, in West Ealing. I am now back in Melbourne, teaching at a local primary school.
As a classroom teacher at a high-performing primary school, I spent years analysing student data: reading assessments to understand where a class had got to, which skills had not landed, and what to teach next. That is ordinary practice in a good school and it is almost never applied to a single child. It is the foundation of how this practice works.
Over those years I built a wide bank of high-quality resources, from practice exercises and worksheets through to exam-style questions, designed to reinforce learning and build confidence. A data-driven approach paired with the right resource at the right moment is what makes the support focused rather than general.

How I teach
Think of it as a private classroom: a teacher teaching directly to, and for, one student. Because the practice is small, I am highly aware of each learner's needs, strengths and progress, which allows genuinely tailored support that a larger tutoring service cannot match.
Lessons are meant to be enjoyable. Students who look forward to a session learn more in it, so I keep them motivated with interactive tasks, variety and the right level of challenge. I am warm and approachable, and I use humour, because a relaxed student is a student who will attempt something they are not sure of.
The rest is rapport. A deeply empathetic approach means students feel supported, understood and motivated to do their best, and that is usually what shifts before the marks do.
